But the thought of my coming PTC exam is occupying me more than many other things now... tsk..tsk..
I want to wake up at 2am this morning to study, but I don't...isk, isk...
By the way, get back into full swing at 9am...
(Other note: Wanna pass this exam with distinction. But what I heard from those who had taken their exam....it seemed that even to pass was not easy, an aunty said she failed...
Phew...I'll just go for it....then if I were to fail, then I re-sit the exam la... isk, I hate the thoughts of being failed in exam. )

A Martha or a Mary?
I got one whole week holiday (for the first time in this training), so I can play lah now. Well, not really, I still have to study for my PTC exam. A lil nervous coz this is my very first PTC (Preliminary Theological Certificate) exam….hehe… When I told my father that I wanted to take this course, his question to me was, “Joyce, can you juggle your study in college and this PTC course? Do one thing at a time!” So this stubborn Joyce answered, “Oh papa, I really wanna take this course. Can, I can arrange my time. Papa, pleaseeee…” He allowed me eventually ;-) And I’m so grateful for this one week holiday so I can study. Joyce, gambateh!

Last two weeks was a chaos to me. In the midst of exam preparation & the exam itself, a course mate & I were asked to attend a few interviews. It’s fun though; revision & exam, interview preparations, sleepless nights, meeting the program managers, the interview session... It’s great. I even fell sick during exam on Wednesday; I had stomachache, thanks to the outside food I ate the day before. So I’ve had to miss a couple of interviews and to postpone one paper that day. I jarang sakit, so to be sick once in a while like that (although I hate it), can be a very valuable experience to me. I got trauma with the outside foods till a few days later. And there’s another thing, there’s lil misunderstanding on our training schedule by our program managers. We guess the senior prog.mgr & the prog.mgr have had their small arguments with each other, and me & my friend stand in the middle, uncertain on our schedule. Isk…:-l
But it’s the wonderful weekend I had that make me forgot all those things for a while. I joined the church BM conference, it’s a 3 days conference but I joined them for a day only, hehe. A friend approached me a few weeks earlier, invited me to join it. So yea, I registered for it & last Sunday, I joined them. I was a lil bit shy bcoz I didn’t join them on regular Sunday & my cousin also didn’t want to stay afterwards :-l, but I was very encouraged with their warm welcome. Thanks also to Bro.Ujang for being my ‘bodyguard’ during Sunday…hehe…I appreciate it. Thanks again Bro! I enjoyed the service, the worship, & the people. I was truly refreshed during the evening prayer session after the sermon, when the preacher asked all the comers to kneel down, everybody, including the singers, the musicians and all the leaders. When he brought us into prayer time, I was refreshed. I took the opportunity to refresh my commitment to my Lord, truly I love Him. I brought everything before him in my prayer including my long-held burden, I’ve been crying and praying for that matter for so long.....letting someone go is really not easy. But I felt better after that, my heart felt lighter. But still I’m praying for that matter. :-)

So how does the blog’s title relate to these stories? Do u still remember the story of Martha & Mary (Luke 10:38-42)? Or at least have u ever heard it? If nah, then I bet u’ll understand it when u read further…
Is Joyce a ‘Martha’ or a ‘Mary’? Yea, Joyce is the plain modern ‘Martha’ who does many works in the same time…yet she’s learning earnestly to be like ‘Mary’, who sits at Jesus’ feet, listening to His teaching….enjoying His presence, His love and His grace, enjoying the portion that will not be taken away from her.
So, which personality are u? Are u a ‘Martha’ or a ‘Mary’? I would say, it’s good to be both. But listen! Luke 10:42 said, “…..Mary has chosen what is better,…” so I leave u something to ponder upon…. But if u are neither Mary nor Martha, then I would say, “Wow, are u alive?” ;-)
