Merry Christmas

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

Merry Christmas, everyone!

KL, Genting Highland - Dec 2013

Where should I start, here I am sitting before my laptop trying to write another blog post. There is nothing special about this post, yet I just feel the urge to write something here, right now. Last week, my family and I had a chance to accompany an aunt of mine and show her around the city of Kuala Lumpur. We visited a few places; some nice landmarks of the city. We drove around to see the sight of Kuala Lumpur (*sigh* I miss this city), and we did take some rides on LRT. Some upgrades had been done to some of the LRT stations, so I did what I used to do when I was here; we read and followed the signs.

We walked by the sidewalks to enjoy the sight of the city. I remember feeling calm walking along the walkways; I was not rushing for anything. And although I did not let my guard down (I used to hear frequent snatch-thief stories. Watched it happened to a friend before too…right before my own eyes)… but somehow, I felt more relaxed during that visit.

The Christmassy decorations adorned the shopping malls; Christmas trees (a must), beautiful large figure of Santa or others, colourful stuffs, beautiful hanging ornaments, Christmas leaves, etc. Visitors and shoppers were many. People walking around, taking pictures or just enjoying the beautiful Christmas embellishment were a common sight.

In the afternoon, the heavy rain kept us back in the KL Tower area. When the heavy downpours changed to drizzles, we quickly got into the car just to be blocked again by a fallen tree right in front of the ticket counter/entrance. We waited for about 30 to 40 minutes for the road to be cleared. I thank God for ‘bomba’.

We also visited Genting Highlands. The drive-up to Genting Theme Park was not easy… I guess. Although I wasn’t driving myself, but the winding, steep road and the foggy vision sure making the drive tough. Instead of driving, I personally would recommend you to just take the cable-car ride to the top. Upon reaching the top, I saw some construction/heavy maintenance stuffs going around; a few construction trucks were there, the workers were spraying the dirt or moss off the wall or parking lot, and, some were trimming the grassy slope. The atmosphere of the Indoor Theme Park was carnival-like in a moderate way. We saw a magic presentation, took a game-ride, had our lunch and took some photos (not so pretty) there.

Here are some pictures for you...

Notice the sign at the top left of the picture? 'No camera!' Oopps...didn't notice it that time, but since I snapped a photo anyway, enjoy!

Carolling

"Don we now our gay apparel...fa la la la la la la la...
Troll the ancient yuletide carols...fa la la la la la la la la."

Unlike last year, this year’s weather was nice and we actually went out visiting houses. There was no rain, making the walks and drive easier albeit getting lost briefly that did cause some delay. I do love the carolling atmosphere; it warmed my heart. The energy that I felt and perhaps absorbed from the fellow carollers kept me going despite my clogged-throat at times. :P While it was important to maintain correct and good tune all time, I did not have to try so hard… I was with a bunch of wonderful, talented carollers. :) Of course, their willing heart and loving ministry sparkled through the night. Visiting each church member’s house was both a privilege and a joy as we got to tell the wonderful story of Christ’s birth loud…I mean…LOUD.

So there were us, all clad in red. I love the shirt as I have my name written on it (so does everyone else).

Some pictures from the night in no particular order.
