Last Friday, I attended a talk on ‘Successful Schooling Indicator’ by Dr. Ernest W. Cheng (Ed.D). The talk was actually the highlight or perhaps the summary of his book ‘Give Your Child the Wings of Flight’ that was published in year 2012. I’m glad that I was there to listen to the talk as it was a real TREASURE (you know, I wouldn’t buy this kind of book, given such a title…not at this point of time). So, I’m truly glad I listened about it directly from the author, and here I put up some notes I acquired from the talk.
So, the schooling phases are divided into three stages; elementary, secondary and tertiary stages, and, every stage is marked by certain gauges. The gauges (indicators) are definitely interconnected; one success relies heavily on the former foundation.

A little introduction on the speaker/author. Dr. Ernest W.Cheng is an educator from Canada and this talk was part of his global mission/service to share his knowledge/experience/insight from his many years being in the education field in Canada to the other educators from different parts of the world. He’s originally from Hong Kong and he’s married with two grown-up children. Too bad I can't find any website of him...
